Safety Features
At Kotobus, we are actively introducing the latest vehicles with superior safety performance.
- PCS (Pre-Crash Safety) [Collision Mitigation Brake System]
-
PCS is a system that helps reduce the speed at the time of a collision, thereby mitigating collision damage. While driving, the millimeter-wave radar continuously detects and analyzes the road ahead. If there is a risk of a collision, it alerts the driver and activates the brakes. If the risk increases, more powerful braking is applied.
*Note: "PCS" is a registered trademark of Toyota Motor Corporation.
- Vehicle Sway Warning
-
This system detects increased swaying of the steering wheel and issues a warning, prompting the driver to take a rest. Continuous warnings will accelerate PCS activation.
- VSC (Vehicle Stability Control)
-
VSC helps prevent lane departures and rollovers on curves by issuing warning sounds, limiting engine output, and activating the brakes to assist the driver in making accurate evasive maneuvers.
*Note: "VSC" is a registered trademark of Toyota Motor Corporation.
- New Safety Eye
-
If the distance to the preceding vehicle falls below the safe distance, a warning is displayed on the multi-information display, and a buzzer sounds to alert the driver.
- Emergency Braking Light Function
-
In the event of sudden braking by the foot brake or PCS, the stop lamps flash. Additionally, in the event of a collision, the hazard lamps will flash to alert following vehicles and reduce the risk of secondary accidents.
Use of Charter Buses
At Kotobus Group, we strive to provide our customers with safe and secure bus services by ensuring compliance with regulations. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. For any questions regarding itinerary planning or dispatch policies, please feel free to consult with us. We are happy to make suggestions on your behalf.
- Driver Working Hours
-
To prevent overwork, the working hours and driving times for bus drivers are regulated. This is stipulated by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in the "Standards for Working Hours and Driving Hours of Commercial Vehicle Drivers" (Work Hours Standards Notice).
- Rest Periods
-
There must be a continuous rest period of at least 8 hours between working hours. For overnight trips, this means there must be at least 8 hours of rest from the end of the workday at the accommodation to the start of the next workday.
- Driving Time
-
Drivers are allowed to drive for up to 9 hours a day (averaged over two days) and cannot drive for more than 4 consecutive hours. After 4 hours of driving, a break of at least 30 minutes is required. If a break is taken within 4 hours, it can be split into segments of at least 10 minutes each.
- Appropriate Speeds for Safe Driving
-
Each road segment has a maximum speed limit that must be adhered to. Due to roadwork, traffic signals, and other obstacles, drivers often need to slow down or stop. It is impossible to drive at the maximum speed limit for the entire journey. To ensure a comfortable and safe travel experience, we ask for your cooperation in planning itineraries with sufficient time allowances.
- Seat Belt Usage
-
With the amendment of the Road Traffic Act, it is now mandatory for passengers to wear seat belts. While attendants (or bus guides) may occasionally stand or move around as part of their duties, please understand that for safety reasons, they may also remain seated while providing guidance.
- Use of ETC
-
When using toll roads, we can advance the toll fees using our ETC card. Please note the following points regarding ETC usage:
- Receipts cannot be issued on the same day when using ETC. We will advance the toll fees for the ETC section and issue an invoice later.
- If you wish to settle the toll fees in cash on the day of travel, we will pass through the ETC gate at the toll road entrance but will stop at the toll booth upon exit to obtain a receipt from the attendant.
- The use of ETC cards in the name of travel agencies or individual customers is strictly prohibited.
- Bringing Videos (DVDs)
-
Playing videos (DVDs) that are not for business use on the bus is a violation of copyright laws. Therefore, even if you bring videos (DVDs), they cannot be played on the bus.
- Request for Dispatch Information
-
- Please provide the final itinerary as early as possible. Late submissions may affect our ability to provide satisfactory service.
- To ensure accurate dispatch, please provide detailed dispatch diagrams, including locations, directions, and access routes. The bus should be dispatched approximately 15 minutes before departure.
- For roads requiring special permits, parking permits, or entry permits, please obtain the necessary permissions and bring the permits with you.
- Please designate a dispatch location that is safe for passenger pick-up and does not cause inconvenience when the bus stops.
- Entering roads with large vehicle restrictions or stopping at bus stops on highways is not allowed.
- Our service area includes all of Kagawa and Tokushima Prefectures. We accept requests where either the departure or arrival point is within these prefectures. For other areas, we can refer you to our partner bus companies. Please contact us for more details.
